Emergency First Aid

Emergency First Aid is a basic course designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to respond to common medical emergencies. The course covers essential topics such as CPR, choking, bleeding control, and shock management. Upon successful completion, participants receive certification valid for three years.

Course Information

This course is required by WSIB for workplaces with five or fewer employees and is also recommended for members of the general public seeking essential knowledge of urban first aid, particularly in managing life-threatening emergencies.

Duration: Approximately 8 hours, delivered either as a single full-day session or split into two 4-hour sessions, based on client preference and scheduling needs.

Certification: Participants will receive Red Cross Emergency First Aid, CPR Level C, and AED certification, valid for 3 years. This course meets or exceeds WSIB standards for workplace first aid training.


During this introductory one-day training, participants will acquire essential knowledge in lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques applicable in both home and workplace settings. This program is authorized by the Red Cross and fulfills legal obligations set by provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, incorporating the most up-to-date first aid and CPR protocols.

Upon successful completion, learners will obtain a Certificate of Completion, valid for three years, and accredited by the Canadian Red Cross.

Course Time:  8:30am to 4:30pm


Teaching Hours:  7.5 hours teaching plus 1 hour break time

 

Notes

  • Understand and successfully demonstrate all required skills
  • 100% attendance and participation
  • 75% minimum passing grade on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation
  • Adherence to the Red Cross’s Fundamental Principles
  • Students must be on time and present for all course content instruction. Students who miss any course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy

***Emergency First Aid Level-C covers Adult, Child and Baby while  Emergency First Aid Level-A  covers only Adult***
